Legal-technology company Catalyst Repository Systems has launched a blog devoted to electronic discovery law, technology and best practices. I will be one of the contributors to the blog, along with several of the company’s legal and technology professionals. Others who will contribute posts include:
- John Tredennick, the president and CEO of Catalyst. Well known among legal-technology professionals, John was editor-in-chief of the best-selling ABA book, Winning With Computers: Trial Practice in the Twenty-First Century, chair of the ABA Law Practice Management Section, and long-time editor of the ABA’s Law Practice Management magazine.
- Jim Eidelman, director of Catalyst Consulting. Jim is a veteran trial lawyer and pioneer in legal technology. For many years, in addition to practicing law, he ran a leading legal-technology consulting firm and was a frequent national speaker and writer on legal technology. He was co-editor with John of the book, Winning with Computers.
- Ron Tienzo, assistant director of Catalyst Consulting. Ron has the unique background of being both a lawyer and a software engineer. Before joining Catalyst, he was the lead person at a large Los Angeles firm on the use of technology in complex litigation matters.
- Chris Toomey, director of managed review at Catalyst. Chris is a lawyer and MBA who has been immersed in e-discovery since its early beginnings. Prior to joining Catalyst, he consulted on e-discovery strategy and attorney review services for corporations and law enforcement agencies. He managed consulting and review teams of more than 70 attorneys across multiple types of cases. Earlier, he established and managed a law firm with a base of more than 450 commercial and individual clients.
- Reed Esau, one of the lead programmers behind the technology at Catalyst.
I am honored to say that, in addition to contributing to the blog, I will be working with Catalyst on a number of initiatives over the coming months. These will include white papers, case studies, educational programs and other materials, all aimed at helping clients better understand e-discovery technology and practice.
