DiliTrust, a company headquartered in Paris, France, that provides an all-in-one corporate governance suite for in-house legal teams, has acquired the U.S.-based enterprise legal management company doeLEGAL, which provides software for matter management, e-billing and e-discovery to corporate and law firm customers.

DiliTrust says the strategic acquisition accelerates its entry in the U.S. market while also strengthening its product offerings. DiliTrust already operates in more than 64 countries and has offices in Paris, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Dubai, Madrid, Milan and Mexico City. With this acquisition, it adds an office in Wilmington, Del., and brings its employee headcount to more than 300.

Among its customers, it says, are some of the world’s largest companies, including AccorHotels, Royal Bank of Canada, BNP Paribas, Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion du Maroc, Campari, Commercial Bank of Dubai, Desjardins Capital, Eutelsat, LVMH, UNICEF, Veolia, and Ville de Montréal et Vivendi.

Its governance suite for legal departments provides five modules that include a portal for managing board meetings, solutions for contract lifecycle management, entity management, and litigation management, and documentation library.

doeLEGAL, originally founded in 1971 as Delaware Office Equipment, provides software for enterprise legal management, e-discovery and litigation support, and IP asset management.

It says that its customers include multiple Fortune 500 companies in the healthcare and insurance sectors, including industry leaders such as
GSK and Emerson Electric.

Bruce Kuennen

“In-house legal teams are facing increasing pressure to do more with less,” Yves Garagnon, global CEO of DiliTrust, said in a statement provided by the company. “Our acquisition of doeLEGAL enables us to provide a holistic platform that addresses these challenges head-on, leveraging AI to drive even more efficiency, cost savings, and ultimately empowering their business partner role within the organization.”

All doeLEGAL employees will remain with DiliTrust. Bruce Kuennen, who has been president of doeLEGAL since 2021, said he sees synergy between the two companies.

“DiliTrust and doeLEGAL share a vision of simplifying and streamlining legal operations through innovative technology,” Kuennen said. “By combining our decades of expertise with the DiliTrust Governance Suite, we can further empower legal teams to achieve greater productivity and deliver more strategic value to their organizations.”

This is DiliTrust’s fourth acquisition in two years since the investment of financial sponsors Cathay Capital, Eurazeo, and Sagard in 2022.
