Universal Migrator has added two new extractors that help migration specialists migrate law firms from one platform to another, bringing its total number of migration extractors to 120. It has also enhanced several of its existing extractors with additional backup options.
Universal Migrator is a tool that moves data and documents from one application to another.
Working primarily with legal tech consultants and migration departments, Universal Migrator facilitates hundreds of data and document migrations every month.
Customer onboarding is a constant struggle that legal tech companies, especially startups, face. With so many law firms using so many different applications, migration departments are often overworked, over-budget and struggle to deliver less-than-stellar migrations in a timely manner. Universal Migrator has addressed this problem by creating connections between 120 legal apps, allowing migration specialists to pull and push data between systems with minimal effort.
“Most migrations consist of two main parts: pulling data out of one system and then pushing it into another. Universal Migrator automates and de-skills both so migration departments can do more projects faster while delivering consistent results. Most migrations only take an hour or two for a human to set up, and then computers move the data at the speed of electricity. Law firms can even work in their new system while the migration is happening,” says founder Tony Valenti.
Speeding up migrations is an easy value proposition to understand, and one that helped them win the ABA Techshow Startup Alley Pitch Competition in 2023.
About Today’s Announcement
120 Migration Connections
Since their Startup Alley victory, Universal Migrator has been hard at work, adding new migration connections nearly every week. In February, the company boasted 100 connections, and has increased that number to 120 as of today, including the newest two additions of Practice Evolve and Documatics.
Enhanced Connectors
In addition to it’s ever growing list of compatible apps, Universal Migrator announced today enhancements to more than a dozen existing connectors. These enhancements mean that companies can map and migrate more data seamlessly, with even less manual work.
A major part of the new connection enhancements is a more robust backup system to ensure that no data is lost during the migration. There are more than 100 different data types available for backup, including contacts, matters, notes, tasks, calendar entries, time, expenses, and even documents.
The newest enhanced connectors announced today are for NetDocuments, iManage Cloud, Aderant Total Office, Caret Legal, Client Profiles, CosmoLex, Filevine, Time Matters, and Zola Suite.
